About the Artist

Celia Fierro is a contemporary artist with a deep aesthetic passion. Having received her formal education as a figurative painter at Laguna College of Art and Design, she is pursuing a Master of Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University.
Celia plays with equal fidelity to naturalism and abstraction of form through energetic mark-making and fearless entry into the subconscious. Exploring psychological processes through visceral energy and an experiential lens, Celia continues to push the limits of her creativity and understanding of the human condition​.

Artist Statement

​My work begins with my fascination with light and shadow, both internally and externally. I explore a loose yet thoughtful approach to paint application, allowing the materials to move boldly and energetically along the surface to create form. I work to integrate frenetic passages with quiet moments. The process is an intuitive aesthetic query, equal parts expression, and impression. I hope the viewer will experience the work with the same curiosity with which it was created.
